It didn't start here.
Today's puzzle is one board in a line that reaches back almost thirty years, to the first snake that ever crawled across a phone.
Keep scrolling. We'll rewind.
Snake taught the world to grow.
A brick phone. Four directions. One rule: eat, grow, don't touch yourself. The tail followed you everywhere you went, then politely got out of the way.
Forgiving, in hindsight.
Screens changed. The rule didn't.
Color arrived, corners softened, the snake got faster. But the loop stayed merciful: your past moved with you, and then it vanished.
Nothing you did was permanent. That was the flaw.
We changed the one rule that mattered.
Now the tail doesn't follow. It fossilizes where you leave it and becomes wall. Rats, birds, eggs and frogs live on the board. Your own history is the maze, and every decision is the same decision: spend length, or keep it?
